The head of the National Security Agency, باسم البدري, participated today, Wednesday, in the proceedings of the Global Security Forum held in the Qatari capital, Doha, under the slogan "The Future of Alliances," with the attendance of security leaders, officials, and decision-makers from about 100 countries.
البدري stated in a speech delivered during the forum, which was followed by the News Video Agency, that the importance of reevaluating international alliances comes in light of current changes, pointing out that recent developments have shown that alliances are not an absolute guarantee of security, and their effectiveness relies on two essential dimensions: the first being economic and political, based on interlinked interests and raising the cost of conflict, and the second being strategic, based on diversifying partnerships, strategic hedging, and preserving sovereignty and national decision-making independence.
The head of the agency presented Iraq's vision, which is based on not engaging in competing axes, establishing balanced relations with various parties, along with centralizing the means of power within the state, reinforcing the rule of law, and enhancing security sovereignty.
He also called for strengthening regional economic integration, developing early warning mechanisms, and enhancing security and intelligence cooperation to prevent the emergence of crises and transforming elements of power into factors of reassurance that contribute to achieving sustainable security and peace.
