The Ministry of Education invites Azerbaijani female students wearing hijabs to study at Iraqi universities.

The Ministry of Higher Education announced today, Wednesday, the approval to host Azerbaijani female students wearing hijabs in Iraqi universities, while deciding to lower the acceptance rates for certain specializations within the evening study program in public and private universities.

The ministry stated in a statement received by "Video News Agency" that "the Board of Advisors in the Ministry of Education approved the invitation for Azerbaijani female students wearing hijabs to study in Iraqi universities through the accepted admission channels and the 'Study in Iraq' initiative, including the free scholarship channel."

It added that "the acceptance rates for certain specializations within the evening study program in public and private universities have been lowered," noting that it "decided to amend the university examination instructions number (11) for the year 2026."

It mentioned that "the councils of universities have been granted the authority to decide on transfer and hosting requests according to the approved regulations," pointing out that "the Board of Advisors in the Ministry of Education decided to grant university councils the power to address critical situations for the academic year (2026-2027), not exceeding one grade."
