Oil Minister Bassem Mohammed Khudair al-Abadi confirmed today, Wednesday, the intensification of efforts and taking necessary actions and decisions to increase oil production rates and boost export quantities, which will contribute to supporting the national economy and enhancing the state's financial revenues.
The ministry stated in a statement received by the "Video News Agency" that this came during al-Abadi's chairing of a crisis cell meeting, which discussed production and export files, distribution of oil derivatives, and consumption rates, with the aim of making appropriate decisions regarding them.
The minister emphasized, according to the statement, the importance of officials in oil formations assuming their leadership responsibilities and making decisions that contribute to developing work within the four sectors of the ministry.
Al-Abadi directed extraction companies to provide plans and visions capable of increasing production to levels commensurate with the size of the oil wealth that Iraq possesses, with the necessity of providing figures, rates, and production estimates that meet the government and ministry's aspirations.
He indicated that raising production and export rates is part of the ministry and government's plans to increase financial revenues, which supports the government's ability to provide services across various sectors.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry's Undersecretary for Extraction Affairs, and a number of advisors and general directors of oil formations.
