Detention of four Iraqi citizens at Carthage Airport despite the Iraqi passport being exempt from visa requirements.

A knowledgeable source revealed today, Thursday, that four Iraqi citizens have been held inside a locked room at Tunis-Carthage International Airport, urging the relevant authorities to intervene urgently to end their suffering.

The source told the News Video Agency that the airport security authorities stopped the four detainees and asked them to show a prior entry visa, even though the applicable regulations grant Iraqi citizens the right to enter Tunisian territory without needing a prior visa.

He added that the detainees are held in difficult conditions inside a locked room since their arrival, appealing to the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Iraqi embassy in Tunisia to intervene immediately to resolve the situation and facilitate their entry or ensure their safe return.
