The Federal Integrity Commission signed a memorandum of understanding today, Thursday, with the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and also signed a cooperation program with the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, on the sidelines of the third meeting of heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies in member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Baku.

The Commission stated in a statement received by the video news agency that the memorandum of understanding with the Azerbaijani side emphasizes enhancing bilateral cooperation in preventing and combating corruption, exchanging information, experiences, studies, and developing the capacities of both parties, as well as legal assistance and issues related to asset recovery and wanted persons in corruption cases, and following them up with the relevant national authorities, in addition to organizing joint training programs, workshops, and awareness activities to promote a culture of integrity and transparency.

It added that it signed a cooperation program with the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation for the years 2027–2028, as a continuation of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides in 2023, indicating that the program includes holding meetings and seminars discussing mechanisms for preventing and detecting corruption, financial investigations, and tracking and recovering assets resulting from corruption-related crimes.

It also noted that the agreement includes training the Commission's staff, exchanging specialized publications, and holding regular meetings for the joint working team to enhance coordination and exchange of experiences between the two sides.
