The suffering of thousands of displaced people in the Blue Nile region of southeastern Sudan is worsening due to the war that forced them to leave their areas near the border with Ethiopia and seek refuge in the cities of Damazin and Rosairs, amid severe shortages of food, medicine, clothing, and shelter supplies.
A media report highlighted the conditions of displaced individuals who found themselves facing a difficult humanitarian reality after leaving their homes and belongings, being forced to stay in temporary shelters, including schools that have turned into refuges for hundreds of families, most of whom are women and children.

Among them is Halima, who was forced by the war to flee with her seven children from Qaisan province to the city of Rosairs, where she spent nearly three months in harsh living conditions, having to sleep on the school floor, without access to treatment, enough clothing, or money to meet her family's needs.
Halima said her family suffers from a lack of basic services and essentials, and she does not have the money to provide treatment or buy the necessary needs for her children, adding that the clothes with which they fled are no longer sufficient for them after this period.
One of the schools in the city of Rosairs has become a temporary shelter for hundreds fleeing from their areas in the provinces of Qaisan and Wad al-Mahi, located near the border with Ethiopia, in the context of limited food and humanitarian aid that do not meet the increasing needs of the displaced.
The Humanitarian Aid Commission in the Blue Nile region confirmed the arrival of more than 5,000 displaced families to the cities of Damazin and Rosairs during the past three months, which prompted it to expand the shelters and establish new camps to accommodate the incoming families.
