The Kurdistan Regional Government announced today, Tuesday, the arrival of a high-level delegation representing it in Baghdad to hold a series of meetings with senior officials in several ministries of the federal government.
The delegation includes, according to a statement from the Media and Information Department reviewed by the "Video News Agency," the Ministers of Finance, Economy, and Natural Resources, the Head of the Council of Ministers' Office of the region, the Secretary of the Council of Ministers, the Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Department, and the Deputy Minister of Planning.
The statement confirmed that the main objective of the visit is for the regional government to participate directly in the preparation of the draft law of the federal general budget for 2027, establishing the financial share and entitlements of the Kurdistan Region within the law project in light of the Iraqi constitution.
It pointed out that the Kurdistan delegation will present during the meetings the region's vision and demands regarding financial entitlements for salary earners, personnel, and job grades for employees, investment project allocations and regional development, operational budget allocations, as well as the oil file.
It emphasized that the delegation seeks, through the anticipated meetings, to reach understandings and mutual agreements with the federal government, and to secure the rights and entitlements of the region in the 2027 budget.
The delegation is set to first meet with officials from the federal Ministry of Finance, followed by meetings with the Ministries of Planning and Oil.
