The Baghdad Municipality comments on the removal of waste from in front of homes: it is free and does not require payment of fees.

The Baghdad Municipality confirmed today, Saturday, that waste collection from in front of homes is free and does not require any payment.

The municipality stated in a statement received by "Video News Agency" that "household waste collection from in front of homes is a free service and does not require any financial payment," urging citizens to "report any attempts to collect money or extortion by private waste collection contractors working in this field."

It added that "Baghdad's Mayor Ammar Moussa Kazem directed, with the follow-up of the municipal agent and municipal departments, to intensify field tours and monitor violations, and to take legal actions against those involved, especially those impersonating official status or claiming affiliation with the Baghdad Municipality, due to the negative impact on the institution's reputation."

The municipality urged citizens to "record the vehicle's number when any financial demand is observed and submit a complaint via the "Baghdad Citizen's Voice" app or by calling the toll-free number 5628, to enable the relevant authorities to verify the situation and take the necessary actions."

The Baghdad Municipality emphasized that "citizen cooperation and reporting violations contribute to limiting these practices and ensuring the continued provision of waste collection services in a systematic and free manner."
