Iraqi national team player Karrar Nabil confirmed today, Saturday, that the players faced Kuwait with determination and a commitment to achieving victory and securing the three points. He noted that the excitement and psychological tension in the final minutes ended with the final whistle of the match, leaving the spirit of brotherhood between the two teams.
Nabil, who was awarded the best player of the match after its conclusion, stated: "The team entered the match against Kuwait with determination and resolve, and there was a promise between the coaching staff and the players to achieve victory and secure the three points no matter how difficult the match was." He praised "the great performance exhibited by the Kuwaiti national team during the match."
He added that "the team delivered an outstanding performance that warranted the result, and the match was pivotal and important to compensate for the result of the previous round where luck was lacking in converting chances to goals." He expressed his "happiness in the players applying the coaching staff's instructions and dedicating the victory to the fans who attended in the stands and to the entire Iraqi people."
Regarding the tension that occurred in the final minutes of the match, Nabil clarified that he "was preoccupied with celebrating with the fans and did not see the details of what happened," pointing out that "excitement and psychological tension are expected in a major match like the Gulf Classic; however, all skirmishes end with the final whistle, and the spirit of brotherhood remains the real bond between the brothers inside and outside the field."
