The Iraqi Stock Exchange trades shares worth 6 billion dinars in a week.

The Iraq Stock Exchange announced today, Monday, that shares worth more than 6 billion dinars were traded during the past week.

The market administration stated in a report attended by the news agency, that "the number of companies whose shares were traded during the past week reached 62 joint-stock companies, while the shares of 31 companies did not trade due to the lack of matching purchase orders with sale orders, while 10 companies continue for not providing disclosures out of 103 listed companies in the market."

It added that "the number of shares traded amounted to 27 billion and 790 million shares, a decrease of 7.40% compared to the previous week, with a financial value of 6 billion and 609 million dinars, an increase of 8% compared to the previous week through the execution of 4511 transactions." It noted that "the ISX60 price index closed at 976.17 points, recording an increase of 0.74% compared to its closing in the previous session."

It indicated that "the number of shares purchased by non-Iraqi investors for the past week reached 51 million shares, with a financial value of 111 million dinars through the execution of 30 transactions, while the number of shares sold by non-Iraqi investors reached 11 million shares at a financial value of 4 million dinars through the execution of 68 transactions."

It is noteworthy that the Iraq Stock Exchange organizes five trading sessions weekly from Sunday to Thursday and includes 103 Iraqi joint-stock companies representing the banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism, hospitality, and services sectors.
