Press reports have revealed details of a controversial rental agreement made by the International Football Federation "FIFA" to secure a representative office inside the building of U.S. President Donald Trump in New York City.
According to documents reviewed by the French newspaper "Le Monde," which were followed up by the news agency, FIFA agreed to pay nearly $4 million over more than 7 years for an office covering an area of 450 square meters on the 17th floor of the building. In related news, well-known sports journalist Roman Molina interacted with these leaks via his account on the "X" platform, highlighting the financial waste in this deal. Molina commented, "FIFA is thus paying nearly $4 million to Trump Tower Commercial (a company headed by Eric Trump, the president's son) to rent a representative office for seven years in Trump Tower." He concluded his tweet with a scathing remark revealing the truth about this location, saying, "An office that is often empty." One of FIFA’s affiliated companies, which has a legal base in the state of Delaware, signed this contract with the company that owns the tower, headed by Eric, the U.S. president's son. The financial agreement was signed in May of last year with the approval of four members of the federation's board, led by Secretary General Matthias Grafström. Under this contract, the sports organization is committed to paying these huge amounts to ensure its presence in the iconic building located on the upscale Fifth Avenue. Journalistic investigations confirmed that this contract is clear evidence of the strong ties between Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, and U.S. President Donald Trump. This relationship was vividly displayed on July 17 last, when the two parties met in the same building just two days before the final match of the World Cup hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
