The spokesman for the Iranian armed opposition party, the Kurdistan Freedom Party, Khalil Naderi, based in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, announced that the party will not abandon its weapons under any circumstances.
Naderi stated, in an interview followed by the news agency Video, that Iran has sought to limit the activities of the opposition in East Kurdistan since the 2022 agreement.
He emphasized that Iranian pressures will not change the party's stance on the issue of arms, clarifying that the party is prepared to move to the mountainous areas in East Kurdistan, Iraq, to confront the Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guard, and that they are ready to cooperate with the devil to overthrow the Iranian regime.
Regarding the relationship with the Kurdistan Regional Government, Naderi pointed to the ongoing communications and dialogues between the two sides, affirming that the party respects the region's circumstances and adheres to its decisions, laws, regulations, and borders.
He also denied that the party received any official communication from the regional government regarding disarmament or expulsion, explaining that the current communication focuses on respecting the region’s laws and taking its circumstances into consideration.
This position comes following a statement attributed to the Iranian ambassador in Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadiq, which discussed an agreement between Baghdad and Tehran regarding the expulsion of Iranian Kurdish armed opposition groups from the Kurdistan Region or their handover to Iran, while the Iraqi announcement about the meeting did not include a clear confirmation of these details.
Iranian Kurdish armed opposition parties have established their main base in the Kurdistan Region, and it is worth noting that most Iranian Kurdish parties maintain direct communication with the Zionist entity and security agencies, including the Mossad, which has been active within the Kurdistan Region since the late 1950s.
