The Élysée Palace reported on Tuesday that French President Emmanuel Macron had received "commitments" to receive "around 100,000 tons of diesel monthly from the UAE".
This comes as part of a Gulf tour that Macron is undertaking, which included signing defense agreements and conducting talks on arms sales.
Macron discussed with Gulf leaders, including UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed on Tuesday, ways to secure maritime corridors and find alternative routes.
The Élysée noted that France is in talks with Gulf countries "to reduce marine insurance prices, allowing companies to transport larger quantities" of fuels through the Strait of Hormuz at a lower cost, without providing further details.
President Emmanuel Macron's Gulf tour continues on Tuesday, which he began on Monday in Kuwait with the aim of securing supplies of diesel and oil to reduce fuel prices in his country.
Earlier, the same source stated that Macron received commitments to provide thousands of additional tons of diesel for his country, including 200,000 tons from the UAE and Bahrain.
The palace added that with the additional quantities previously secured from Saudi Arabia, amounting to "95,000 tons" for the months of "October and November", France would have secured commitments for 295,000 tons monthly, or "slightly more than 10%" of its diesel consumption, to alleviate pressure on markets and fuel prices at filling stations.
After France experienced violence during protests against the rising cost of living, which Macron stated was due to the conflict in the Middle East, things calmed down on the first night of the curfew in the capital Paris and several other cities.

Macron's tour aims to strengthen "economic and defense partnerships" in a region that has been experiencing crises since the start of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran on February 28. He is accompanied by senior officials from France's two largest energy groups, "Total Energy" and "Engie".

Francis Perrin, an energy expert at the French Institute for International and Strategic Relations (IRIS), warned that "it is difficult for Gulf countries to make firm commitments as long as the region remains unstable" even though they are "very keen to supply the world and the French market" with energy sources. Therefore, it is not expected that Macron's tour will affect prices.
