Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned U.S. President Donald Trump's threats to take action against Cuba following U.S. moves against Iran, affirming his country's rejection of what he described as American ambitions to impose dominance over it.
Rodríguez said in a post on the platform «X» that Havana rejects all threats associated with American ambitions towards it, warning: "Our coasts are full of beautiful beaches, but they also contain sharp rocky formations like blades; it is an inhospitable environment for those who arrive at our shores with hostile intentions and a desire for dominance." Trump had threatened to take action against Cuba during an election rally held on Friday in Fort Myers, Florida, stating that the United States would deal with Havana upon its return from Iran. The U.S. president added that American ships would pass along the Cuban coasts, and one of them might stop about 50 yards from the shore before the Cubans surrender, indicating that he would send Secretary of State Marco Rubio to complete the mission.
