The Director of Media for the Iraqi Football Federation, Mohamed Khalaf, announced that discussions are being held with experts from the German Bundesliga to explore ways of collaboration and develop the Iraqi Premier League, confirming that the discussions have not yet resulted in a final agreement.
Khalaf stated in a statement to the News Video Agency that the meeting was attended by the Federation President Younis Mahmoud, Vice President Mohamed Nasser, and Secretary General Kovend Abd al-Khalq, and included a presentation from German experts regarding the services that could be provided to develop Iraqi football.
He explained that the proposed collaboration differs from the previous experience with the Spanish league (La Liga), as it focuses on developing the Iraqi Premier League and benefiting from German expertise in organizing competitions, enhancing the efficiency of the workforce, and improving administrative and organizational aspects.
He added that the discussions have reached advanced stages and included discussions about possible areas of cooperation, noting that the federation will announce the details of the agreement to the public and the media if a final format is reached between the two sides.
