Member of Parliament Alq Al-Gharabi called on political blocs today, Saturday, to expedite the resolution of the issue of electing the heads and members of parliamentary committees, emphasizing the importance of this step in activating the oversight and legislative roles of the parliament, especially after completing the ministerial formation and finalizing the cabinet. Al-Gharabi stated in a press statement to the Video News Agency that finalizing the selection of committee heads represents the actual start of legislative and oversight work, and is a fundamental step to enable the parliament to perform its constitutional duties. She added that the current phase requires the completion of this issue to ensure the activation of committee work, stressing the necessity of granting political blocs with limited parliamentary representation an effective role within them, which enhances political and legislative balance. In this context, the Coordinating Framework formed a committee during its last meeting to discuss the issue of committee presidencies and membership based on criteria of competence, balance, and national partnership.
