A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad, revealed today, Saturday, his party's support for the Suayana Christian bloc to assume the Ministry of Migration and Displaced Persons, accusing the Babylon bloc of exploiting the ministry for years to achieve personal interests and political gains.
Muhammad stated, in a statement followed by the Video News Agency, that the Kurdistan Democratic Party strongly supports granting the ministry to the Suayana bloc, noting that it won three out of five seats allocated for the Christian component in Parliament.
He added that Suayana's victory with the Christian majority changed the political equation, emphasizing that the best option is to assign the ministerial portfolio to it, while stressing that if this is not possible, the alternative is to nominate an independent Christian figure completely distanced from Babylon's influence.
These statements come amid rising parliamentary disputes among Christian forces regarding the Ministry of Migration and Displaced Persons in Al-Zaydi's government, alongside efforts from the Suayana bloc, supported by Kurdish forces, to keep Babylon away from managing the ministry, while proposing the option of an independent Christian figure as a compromise solution to complete the formation of the government.
