Communications Minister Mustafa Sand announced today, Saturday, that the "Ameen" platform, affiliated with the Iraqi National Security Service, has managed to address approximately 24,000 cases of cyber extortion out of a total of 36,000 cases received since its launch.
Sand stated in a statement received by the news agency that the platform was launched according to international standards, with the efforts of Iraqi developers, officers, and personnel from the National Security Service, and it is available through application stores, noting that it has recorded around 90,000 users.
He added that the platform processed about 24,000 cases, achieving a rate of 66 percent of the total registered cases, while approximately 12,000 remaining cases were classified as outside the application's criteria.
He clarified that the processed cases included 18,000 cases concerning males and more than 18,000 cases concerning females, as stated in the report.
Sand pointed out that the platform aims to combat cyber extortion and address related cases, explaining that the processing mechanisms include deleting the content used for extortion, while the account is permanently deleted if it is proven to have been used to extort more than one person or entity.
