The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sheikh Naeem Qassem, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the resistance continues with the legitimacy of its right and what the Taif Agreement has guaranteed to confront aggression against Lebanon, emphasizing that there is no room for discussion regarding the disarmament as long as the occupation exists and its aggression continues.

Sheikh Qassem stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the resistance arose due to the Israeli occupation supported by America, and Hezbollah continued this resistance to confront the occupation and liberate land and people, confirming that the wars instigated by the enemy are expansionist wars to build Greater Israel, and that previous agreements were merely stations to entrench the occupation.

He added that the cost of resistance is high, but surrender leaves nothing behind; had it not been for the resistance and the sacrifices of the people, the enemy would have begun establishing settlements and controlling all of Lebanon, both land and politics, noting that the enemy is experiencing failure, internal confusion, and economic and political crises, and that America is undergoing an economic crisis and turmoil and has lost its global status.

He confirmed that there is no legitimacy to the framework agreement due to its violation of the constitution, Taif Agreement, and laws, and it is in a state of non-existence, stressing the necessity of the enemy's withdrawal according to the agreement of 27/11/2024 and Resolution 1701 and the deployment of the Lebanese army south of the Litani River.

The Secretary-General clarified the importance of the Iran-America agreement as it is a source of available strength that has proven effective in reducing the level of aggression, praising Iran’s role, its sacrifices, and the position of its leadership represented by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Sheikh Qassem pointed out the necessity of putting an end to American guardianship and its control over the state’s components as it is a violation of sovereignty like the occupation, expressing his concern for national unity and popular cohesion, and reiterating the commitment to sheltering, restoration, and reconstruction, alongside the strength of the relationship with the Amal Movement and allied forces, rejecting strife and supporting the role of the national army.
