Political analyst Ali Al-Tawil held political conflicts and foreign interventions responsible for the delay in enacting the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law in the House of Representatives, considering that American pressures and dictates contributed to obstructing the law's approval.
Al-Tawil stated in a statement followed by the Video News Agency that the postponement of the PMF law's approval is due to a variety of factors, most notably political disputes and the interests of certain blocs, in addition to foreign interventions that have reflected on the legislative process of the law.
He added that there is, in his view, a response from some political blocs to American dictates regarding the law, despite repeated demands for its passage and approval within the House of Representatives.
Al-Tawil pointed out that there are attempts to reduce the role of the PMF and influence the rights of its fighters, holding the coordination framework a significant portion of the responsibility for the delay, along with the House of Representatives and the political blocs represented therein.
He confirmed that the continued postponement of the legislation raises questions about the fate of the law and the rights it is supposed to regulate for the PMF fighters.
