The Rusafa police thwart an attempt to kidnap a citizen.

The Baghdad Rusafa police command thwarted an attempted kidnapping of a citizen today, Saturday, and arrested the kidnappers in one of the areas of the Rusafa side, through coordination between the Baghdad New Crime Prevention Department, the seventh Rusafa Emergency Brigade patrols, the rescue patrols, and the intelligence department.

The command stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the operation took place after a citizen reported the incident. The security force headed to the location of the executing force and arrested six suspects who were driving two vehicles involved in the incident.

It added that one of the suspects confessed during the investigation to contacting the complainant and luring him with the aim of attempting to kidnap him, while the forces seized a firearm, a type of pistol, in their possession, and they were detained to take the necessary legal actions against them.
