The Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, asserted today, Sunday, that the strikes carried out by Iranian military forces on U.S. bases have placed U.S. leaders in a "desperate situation," emphasizing that Tehran no longer responds to aggressions based on the principle of proportionate responses.
Qalibaf stated, in comments followed by the News Video Agency, that "the era of proportionate responses has ended," noting that Iran has engaged in a comprehensive confrontation with the United States at military and diplomatic levels, along with the resilience of the Iranian people and the unity of state institutions.
He added that his country has succeeded in defeating the United States in both military and diplomatic arenas, considering that the next confrontation will be in the economic field, stressing that Iran will also work to achieve victory in this domain.
The Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council pointed out that the recommendation of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Mr. Mostafa Khamenei, to exercise "extreme caution" and avoid showing weakness towards Iran and the regime represents "strategic instructions" that must be adhered to during the current phase.
