The Ministry of Education issued today, Sunday, decisions regarding the distribution of staff and filling vacancies before the start of the academic year, stating that new appointments are contingent on the budget and the state's general policies.
The ministry's spokesperson, Karim Al-Sayed, said in a statement monitored by the news agency Video, that "the Minister of Education, Abdul Karim Abtan Al-Jubouri, met with the general directors and relevant and specialized bodies in the ministry to review the settlement file in general," stressing the "necessity of filling vacancies and not violating the regulations and instructions regarding the distribution of teaching staff."
He added that "the primary goal of these measures is to provide teachers for students with the start of the new academic year, ensuring that there is no shortage in teaching staff."
He clarified that "the ministry has given special attention to schools located in rural areas and on the outskirts of cities, and the minister directed that no teacher should be granted any transfer if it would create a vacancy in the school, in order to maintain the stability of the staff and meet actual needs."
He continued that "priority will be given to vacancies in scientific subjects specifically, due to the schools' need for teachers in these specialties," indicating that "on the 20th of this month, all these details will be organized in preparation for the start of the academic year."
Regarding opening the door for appointments to fill the shortage, Al-Sayed confirmed that "the appointments are linked to the budget and the state's general policies," noting that "the Ministry of Education experiences an annual movement in staff in conjunction with population expansion and the need for school buildings and educational staff, and this matter remains subject to the higher policies of the state and what is allocated within the budget."
