The Iranian news agency announced today, Saturday, the death of 11 people in a fuel tanker explosion in the west of the country.
The head of the fire and safety department in the municipality of Sanandaj, Morteza Karami, told the "IRNA" agency, as reported by the "News Video Agency": "Following this incident, several firefighting teams from Sanandaj were dispatched to the site to control the fire and prevent its spread."
He added: "The incident occurred minutes ago, and as soon as the report was received, firefighting teams from different parts of the city of Sanandaj were sent to the site."
He continued: "Since the truck's cargo is fuel, firefighting operations are conducted with high precision, and firefighting teams are doing their utmost to control the flames and prevent the fire from spreading and causing secondary incidents."
Karami confirmed that "more details about the cause of the incident, the extent of potential damages, and the condition of the passengers will be announced," in addition to the progress of the firefighting operations."
