The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Haibet al-Halabousi, discussed today, Sunday, during a phone call with the Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, bilateral relations, developments in the region, and a number of issues of mutual interest.
The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that during the call, the Speaker expressed his condemnation of the attacks targeting the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reiterating Iraq's position against using Iraqi territory or passing through its airspace to threaten the security of the Kingdom or any of the neighboring countries, as this is inconsistent with the country’s policy and its relations with its brothers.
The Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Sheikh, confirmed the depth of the fraternal relations that bind the Kingdom and Iraq and the desire to enhance and develop them in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly peoples, appreciating Iraq's position against any threat to the Kingdom's security and stability.
