The General Cultural Affairs House has recently released the new poetry collection by poet Aws Hassan, titled "What the Dream Says.. and Language Neglects," which addresses questions of existence, language, memory, time, and humanity through a poetic vision with philosophical dimensions.
Hassan stated in an interview with the news video agency that the collection starts from a philosophical threshold chosen with the phrase "Deficiency in Existence.. Abundance in Being," indicating that it does not merely represent a theoretical prelude, but forms a key to entering the poetic world of the texts and the questions that inhabit them.
He added that the ambiguous relationship between language and human experience has always preoccupied him, clarifying that words, despite their ability to name things and establish their meanings, remain unable to encompass what goes beyond the limits of direct consciousness, and what lurks in the deep areas of the self and existence.
Hassan explained that dreams appear in the collection as another realm of revelation and a space where things take on unfamiliar forms, freeing entities from their usual logical relationships, revealing truths that everyday language may struggle to approach.
