The General Authority for Meteorology revealed today, Sunday, that the country will be affected by a rainy autumn weather system that will last for several days starting from Tuesday evening, with varying chances of rainfall and its intensity from one area to another, concentrated in the central and northern regions.
The authority stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the effects of the weather system will begin on Tuesday evening, October 27, starting from the western regions of the country in the form of intermittent rain showers that range in intensity from light to moderate, gradually expanding during Wednesday and the following days to the rest of the country.
It added that the highest amounts of rain will be concentrated in the central and northern regions, while the chances of rain will be relatively lower in the southern region, with a possibility of forming pockets of heavy rain due to the activity of thunderstorm clouds that may be accompanied by lightning strikes and active, sudden downward winds that stir up local dust.
It pointed out that the weather system will weaken and the chances of rain will recede during the daylight and evening hours of Saturday, while clouds will continue to appear, indicating that it will be followed by another weather system in the middle of the next week, urging citizens to be cautious of lightning and to stay away from riverbeds and depressions and to follow the weather bulletins and daily warnings.
