The Ministry of Interior announced today, Saturday, the seizure of 60 illegal activities related to industrial and commercial fraud, and the arrest of 62 suspects during the month of October, as part of its ongoing campaigns to combat manipulation of goods and consumer materials in the markets.
The head of the Relations and Media Department in the ministry, Major General Muqdad Miri, stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that organized crime control teams carried out qualitative operations that resulted in the seizure of 60 illegal activities and the arrest of 62 individuals involved in industrial and commercial fraud practices.
He added that the operations resulted in the seizure of 110.5 tons of rice, 295 liters of detergents, and 550 liters of milk, in addition to the seizure of counterfeit trademarks and the detection of cases of manipulation with scales.
Miri confirmed the ministry's continued pursuit of those involved in fraud and manipulation of products and consumer materials, emphasizing that there will be no leniency with anyone who attempts to harm the health of citizens, deceive consumers, or affect economic security.
He pointed out that consumer protection represents a security and legal responsibility, and that the ministry will continue to take necessary measures to limit fraud and deception operations and ensure the safety of goods available in the markets.
