Gold prices in the Iraqi local markets today, Saturday, showed varied levels between Gulf and Iraqi gold, amidst ongoing buying and selling activity in jewelry shops.
According to monitoring by the Video News Agency of gold prices in the markets, the selling price of a golden mithqal (4.25 grams) of Gulf gold, 21-karat, ranged between 960,000 and 970,000 Iraqi dinars, while the selling price of a mithqal of Iraqi gold was recorded at levels ranging between 930,000 and 940,000 dinars.
The prices reflect a difference between Gulf and Iraqi gold, as the price is influenced by the type of gold, its source, manufacturing costs, and craftsmanship, in addition to the supply and demand dynamics in local markets.
Jewelry shops in Iraq are continuously monitoring gold price movements, due to their linkage with global gold prices and market fluctuations, alongside the impact of the dollar exchange rate in the local market.
Final prices vary from one jewelry shop to another based on crafting fees, workmanship, and the type of gold items.
