Electronic payment in Iraq exceeds 25 trillion dinars within 7 months.

The "ECHO Iraq" Observatory announced today, Saturday, that the volume of electronic payment transactions in Iraq reached 25.4 trillion dinars from the beginning of 2025 until the end of July, through more than 10.8 million payment transactions.
The observatory stated in a statement received by the News Video Agency that the financial operations indicators for 2025 recorded 32.8 trillion dinars through 14.6 million transactions, indicating that 20 trillion dinars represent tax collections and bills.
It added that the infrastructure for electronic payments in Iraq includes 37.6 million payment cards, 197 thousand points of sale (POS), in addition to 3,015 ATMs and 15 thousand cash withdrawal points (POC).
It pointed out that the sector includes 18 electronic payment companies, including 5 electronic wallets.
The observatory confirmed that the growing use of electronic payments represents a step towards enhancing the digital economy, reducing reliance on cash transactions, as well as supporting transparency and financial inclusion in Iraq.
