A horrific accident on the Tikrit-Kirkuk road claims the lives of a doctor and four of his family members, and seriously injures his daughter.

A source in the Salah al-Din Health Department reported today, Saturday, that five people from the same family were killed and another was injured in a horrific car accident that occurred on the main road connecting Tikrit and Kirkuk.
The source stated, in remarks followed by the news agency, that the accident resulted in the death of a well-known doctor and four of his family members, while his daughter sustained critical injuries due to the vehicle they were traveling in colliding with a truck on the Tikrit-Kirkuk road.
He added that the bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department to complete the necessary medical and administrative procedures, while the injured was treated and taken for medical care.
The source noted that high speed and improper overtaking are, according to initial information, the main causes of the accident, which left a tragedy for a single family.
Calls continue to adhere to traffic rules and avoid excessive speed and improper overtaking to reduce traffic accidents and protect citizens' lives.
