Military intelligence foils the smuggling of oil derivatives in Diyala and Nineveh and seizes the vehicles used.

The Military Intelligence Directorate announced today, Saturday, the thwarting of two attempts to smuggle quantities of oil derivatives in the provinces of Diyala and Nineveh during separate intelligence operations.
The directorate stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the intelligence and security sections of the first and fourteenth infantry divisions managed to thwart the two attempts following precise surveillance and intelligence monitoring of the smugglers' movements.
It added that the operations are part of the ongoing efforts to pursue smuggling networks and economic crimes targeting national resources, noting that the forces were able to seize the smuggled oil derivatives and the vehicles used in the smuggling operations.
The directorate indicated that the seized vehicles and their drivers were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal actions to be taken against them.
