Member of Parliament Rafiq Hashim Al-Salhi confirmed today, Saturday, the urgent need to intervene to ensure the rights of the workers of the (FCC) project at the South Refineries Company and to pay their full financial entitlements, emphasizing that the rights of workers are a direct responsibility of the concerned parties and that delays or reductions cannot be accepted.
Al-Salhi stated in a statement followed by the Al-Fid News Agency that the Iraqi worker performing his duties in vital oil facilities should not bear the repercussions of contractual and administrative disputes between companies and contractors, affirming that the entitlements of workers are a legal and moral obligation that requires immediate resolution.
He added that he is following the demands of the project's workers and their protest stand, pointing out his call for the concerned parties to clarify the reasons for delaying the payment of entitlements or deducting them, and to verify the extent of compliance by the parties with the terms of the contracts concluded.
Al-Salhi called on the Ministry of Oil and the administration of the South Refineries Company to hold an urgent and direct meeting with representatives of the workers, to establish a clear timeline for resolving the issue and ending the existing problems.
He emphasized the continuation of follow-up on the case using parliamentary and oversight tools, and addressing the relevant authorities, in order to guarantee the rights of workers and prevent any infringement against them, stressing the importance of reaching a final solution that returns the entitlements to their rightful owners and preserves the dignity of the Iraqi worker.
