Next Tuesday.. the government will open the budget file for 2027 in preparation for referring it to the parliament.

The government spokesman Haider al-Abboudi announced today, Saturday, that Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaydi has directed to allocate the next cabinet session to discuss the draft federal budget law for the year 2027, in preparation for its approval and referral to the Parliament.
Al-Abboudi stated in a statement followed by the Fadyou News Agency, “The Prime Minister has directed to allocate the session on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, to discuss the draft federal budget law for the financial year 2027, in preparation for its approval and referral to the Iraqi Parliament.”
He added that the budget project relies on a methodology that links financial allocations to targeted results, and includes funding tools aimed at supporting economic development and enhancing the country's ability to face risks and challenges.
Al-Abboudi pointed out that the path of development and the Sovereign Wealth Fund are among the strategic priorities that the budget project focuses on, within the framework of the approach to support developmental projects and enhance financial sustainability.
