The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, called on Wednesday to replace the term disarmament with the terms organization and containment, revealing the formation of a joint committee with factions to address the issue.

Al-Maliki stated in a televised interview reviewed by the Video News Agency that the language of challenge and threat has ended, opening the door for dialogue and discussion to reach a formula that resolves the crisis and prevents clashes.

He clarified that the term disarmament is not used due to its negative psychological and practical implications, emphasizing that the better and more appropriate term is the organization or containment of weapons.

The head of the State of Law Coalition pointed out that discussions focus on distinguishing between heavy, medium, and light weapons, noting that the committee formed with the factions will determine the inclusion of weapons for preservation and containment.
