Fouad Hussein discusses with the Director of the Iraq Initiative at the Atlantic Council efforts to reduce regional escalation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, received today, Thursday, Victoria Naylor, the Director of the Iraq Initiative Program at the Atlantic Council in Washington, to discuss the latest regional developments.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement received by the Video News Agency that the meeting witnessed discussions on initiatives and efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

It added that the two sides addressed the Iraqi government's efforts to organize and control arms within the state and the challenges facing the implementation of these steps, as well as discussing Iraqi-American relations and ways to develop and enhance avenues for joint cooperation, especially in light of the recent visit of the Prime Minister to Washington.
