German Tatjana Gienrich is preparing to write a new and completely different chapter in her life, having decided to enter the world of professional boxing.
Gienrich, 33, who was crowned Miss Germany in 2022, will compete in her first professional match on November 14 in the city of Magdeburg.
Though she is famous as a model, boxing is not unfamiliar to her; the Russian-born who moved to Germany in her childhood was a three-time amateur champion of Saxony-Anhalt between 2007 and 2009 in the flyweight category.
Gienrich revealed in statements to the German newspaper "Bild" that her entry into boxing during her teenage years was a means of self-defense: I was constantly bullied at school and wanted to defend myself in some way.
After that, she ventured into the world of fashion and was crowned Miss Germany in 2022, and she has more than 44,000 followers on Instagram.
Her relationship with boxing resumed through her sponsorship of ring girls, from which the idea of returning came; she said: It is a dream I have had for many years and will finally be realized.
She is currently training five days a week under the supervision of coach Dirk Dzimski (54), who is the same coach that led Robert Stieglitz to become a world champion.
The media compares her to the legend Regina Halmich, who also combined modeling and boxing; while Tatjana says her goal is bigger than titles: I want to be a role model for young women and prove to them that it is possible to succeed in both a career and sports together. My goal is to become a world champion.
