The election committee in Westchester County, New York, announced the malfunction of ballot scanning machines at polling stations during the congressional elections, prompting officials to collect paper ballots in designated bags until they can be counted.
The committee explained to reporters that the ballots would be placed in secure orange bags and under surveillance, and would be counted according to electoral procedures, emphasizing that all eligible votes would be counted.
For her part, New York Attorney General Letitia James announced that she is monitoring the malfunctions, while the competing candidates in District 17, Republican Mike Lawler and Democrat Kate Conley, urged voters to continue voting.
