The teams of Al-Julaan and Karbala achieved victories over the teams of Gaz Al-Shamal and Al-Karkh in two matches held this evening, Friday, as part of the fifth round of the Iraq Stars League in football.
Al-Julaan managed to secure a win against their hosts Gaz Al-Shamal with a lone goal, in a match held at the Newroz Stadium in Sulaymaniyah, which serves as the home stadium for Gaz Al-Shamal, at 6:45 PM.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, and in the second half, Al-Julaan scored their goal in the 48th minute through player Ibrahima Ndiaye.
With this result, Al-Julaan raised their points to eight, occupying the fifth position, while Gaz Al-Shamal's tally remained at five points, placing them in 12th position.
In another match, the Karbala team achieved a valuable victory over their guests, the Al-Karkh team, with a score of 1-0, at the Najaf International Stadium, which serves as the home ground for Karbala.
The first half ended in a goalless draw, and in the second half, Karbala scored their goal through player Austin Amoto in the 79th minute.
With this victory, Karbala raised their points to five, placing them in 14th position, while Al-Karkh's tally remained at one point, leaving them in the last position.
