TikTok has announced a set of new tools aimed at improving user experience, including voice comments, polls, and the ability to post multiple photos in comments.
Voice comments will soon be available to users over 18, allowing them to record audio messages up to 60 seconds long under any video, which can be clicked on by anyone to listen.
While this feature may be a fun addition, it could turn the comments section into chaos, which will become apparent over time.
The platform also allows creators to create comment polls on their posts, with the ability to display up to 5 options and track results directly in the comments section.
This feature is currently available to users worldwide, after the platform had tested a similar idea through stickers during live broadcasts.
The third updates concern photo comments, where users can now upload Live Photos from their camera roll, which are photos that contain movement and sound for a few seconds before and after capturing the image. This feature is currently available, and the platform will increase the number of photos that can be posted in a single comment to 9 in a carousel format, set to launch next month.
These additions are part of a series of recent updates to TikTok, which included the ability to book travel services directly from the platform and the addition of a local feed based on the user's location to increase engagement.
